In the summer of 2017, Neymar da Silva Santos Jr. completed a world record-breaking transfer from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain F.C. for a fee of €222 million. The fee surpassed the previous record of £85.3 million (€94 million), which was set by Paul Pogba when he transferred from Juventus to Manchester United in 2016. Neymar’s transfer caused a stir not just because of the fee, but also because he had only been with Barcelona for two seasons. Neymar transferred to PSG because he wanted to play for a team that could compete for the Champions League title. At PSG, he will have the chance to play with some of the best players in the world and win some of the biggest trophies in club football.

Why did Neymar left PSG?

It seems that PSG have finally made a decision on Neymar’s future and according to ‘Sport’, the Brazilian could be in his final few months at the Parc des Princes. The club are reportedly willing to let him leave in June 2023 and then use the money they will save on Neymar’s salary to keep on paying Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe big money. This could be a very wise move by PSG as it would allow them to keep hold of their two biggest stars while also freeing up some much needed funds.
