In May 2018, Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski completed a transfer to Bundesliga rivals, Borussia Dortmund. The move came as a surprise to many, as Lewandowski had just signed a contract extension with Bayern Munich the year prior. However, with Dortmund’s offer of a reported €60 million, Bayern Munich decided to sell the Polish striker.

Since joining Dortmund, Lewandowski has continued to be one of the most prolific strikers in world football. In his first season with the club, he scored 22 goals in 27 league appearances, as Dortmund finished second in the Bundesliga behind Bayern Munich. The following season, he again scored 22 goals in the league, helping Dortmund to a first-place finish.

Currently,Lewandowski is the second-highest scorer in the Bundesliga with 164 goals, behind only Bayern Munich’s Gerd Muller. He is also the all-time leading scorer for the Polish national team, with 59 goals in 111 appearances.
